PT BNI Venture Capital (BNI Ventures), a startup investment unit under PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI, emphasizes its commitment in encouraging the growth and development of Indonesia's digital startup ecosystem.
This is evidenced by the injection of funds to Rukita, a property technology (proptech) company that provides long-term rental housing solutions through a digital platform.
BNI Ventures invested a number of funds into Rukita, which is included in the series B startup, where the products offered are mature and know the target market to be targeted.
This funding round also included partners and investors such as MPower Partners, Openspace Ventures, and former NBA star Jeremy Lin. Rukita's previous investors, such as Surge Peak XV, Golden Gate Ventures, Shunwei Capital, OCBC Ventures, and real estate veteran David Tsang, also rejoined this round.
BNI Ventures CEO Eddi Danusaputro revealed that this investment was made to accommodate the needs of a rapidly growing market. BNI Ventures wants to bridge the synergy between proptech startup Rukita and the BNI Group ecosystem.
"Through Rukita's technological infrastructure that bridges property owners with prospective residents, collaboration with financial solutions from the BNI Group ecosystem such as financing products, transactional features, and so on will be more perfect," said Eddi.
Eddi is optimistic that the investment in Rukita will bring positive impacts to various parties. "This investment is part of BNI Ventures' mission to support digital acceleration and transformation in ecosystems that have high synergy potential with BNI Group," he added.
Eddi further explained that the collaboration between Proptech and banking, in this case Rukita and BNI Ventures, is not only beneficial in terms of potential return on investment. This collaboration will also create beneficial synergies for both parties and enrich the overall consumer financial experience.
"As part of Indonesia's digital ecosystem, BNI Ventures believes that this investment will encourage the growth and development of the digital startup ecosystem as a whole. We hope that Rukita can create added value for the BNI Group ecosystem in strengthening BNI Group's position in the financial services sector," concluded Eddi.
